The Photographer

Hello and welcome to my website PhotoProImages

My name is Alan Janaszek and I am a professional freelance photographer with 14 years experience in sport, editorial press and PR photography.

Working in the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire area; I spent my first six years as a staff photographer with Johnston Press, at the Worksop Guardian and Mansfield Chad Newspapers and then eight years as a staff photographer with Garnett Dickinson Publishing at the Rotherham Advertiser and their asssociated publications.

When I left school my first employment was in retail at 'Buttery Stores' a small fruit and veg shop in Langold, before leaving to start my apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering with the National Coal Board. I spent 13 years at Manton Colliery before the pit closed and I was made redundant. From there I spent a short time fitting UPVC windows before landing my dream job as a junior photographer with my local newspaper the Worksop Guardian.

A hobby which I loved was now my job and I have never look back.

I am an active member of the Worksop and District Photographic Society which I joined many years ago.
The club has a number of truly excellent, inspirational photographers in its ranks, who openly share their experience and knowledge. As a club we compete against each other, and against other clubs at regional and national level and have represented the North East Midlands Photographic Federation NEMPF in national competition six years out of the last seven.

I regularly compete in the club monthly competitions, achieving some degree of success in recent years;
The 'Most Improved Photographer' in my formative years
Winner of the 'Advanced Colour Prints' in 3 consecutive years.
Three times a winner of the 'Alan Ford Memorial Trophy'
Regular exceptances in NEMPF achieving a certificate of merit and representing the PAGB with my images.

Thankyou for your interest and viewing my images
